child proofing your home
Checklist for child proofing your home and keeping your kids safe. (This list is by no means exhaustive).

Home fixin's:
outlet covers
door knob covers
door and drawer latches
safety mechanism on garage door
install smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and have an escape plan
Cords and wires:
tie up electrical cords
tie up cords from drapes or blinds
drawstrings on pants or hoodies
Other dangers:
put dangerous tools well out of reach
pool safety (high fence, motion alarm in the pool, self closing gate)
put cleaning products and other toxins on top shelf (don't forget about the garage and shed)
turn hot water temperature down
baby gates
put heavy objects out of reach (these can be pulled down and land on little ones)
sharp objects out of reach (scissors, knives, nail clippers and files etc...)
never leave kids unattended in the bath or swimming pool
prevent suffocation by keeping plastic bags out of reach
